Why Progress+

A Regulated Health Professional. Not a Certification.

Most senior fitness services in the GTA are delivered by personal trainers holding a fitness certification. Progress+ Seniors is delivered exclusively by Registered Kinesiologists, regulated healthcare professionals licensed by the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. An R.Kin completes a kinesiology degree, is held to a professional standard of practice, and is trained to work directly alongside your physician, not around them. That distinction matters most when the person exercising has arthritis, a recent surgery, osteoporosis, or a cardiac condition. You are working with a clinician who happens to train, not a trainer who has taken a senior fitness course. In an industry full of self-described "older adult specialist" personal trainers, the difference between a certification and a regulated healthcare credential is the difference between marketing and accountability.

Who This Is For

People like you.

Adults 65+ at home, in condos, or in retirement residences who want a fitness trainer for elderly parents, or a personal trainer for older people, with clinical depth. Whether you have looked for a physical trainer for seniors after a hospital stay, or a weight trainer for seniors focused on preserving muscle and bone density, an R.Kin builds around your situation, not a template. Ideal for aging in place, post-fall reconditioning, sarcopenia risk, and functional mobility loss. Funded by the resident, family, or facility.

What's Included

Every Program. Every Member. Every Time.

Progress+ is a brand, not a service. The standard does not change based on price tier, time of year, or how busy we are. What you receive is what every member receives.

Every Active Aging program is built around three goals: Balance, Mobility, and Independence. Standard personal training focuses on aesthetics and weight loss. For seniors, that's the wrong scorecard.

  • Balance and strength programming shown to reduce fall risk
  • Strength training for independence and sarcopenia prevention
  • Functional mobility work for daily life and aging in place
  • In-suite delivery or in-residence partnership
  • No minimum residents required for facilities
  • Complements existing physio and group programming

How It Works

Four Steps. Fully Handled.

01

Assessment

Functional movement, medical history, and independence goals, assessed in your home. Your R.Kin also completes a home safety review, identifying trip hazards and fall risks specific to your space, and uses your existing furniture and layout to design safe, practical programming around it.

02

Program Design

Your R.Kin designs around your strengths and protects what's at risk.

03

Delivery

Twice or thrice weekly in your home or suite. Family welcome to attend.

04

Documentation

Track balance, strength, and independence gains — reported to family on request.

The Clinical Difference

Registered Kinesiologist Oversight.

Falls among older adults cost Canada's health system $5.6 billion a year in direct costs, more than double the cost for adults aged 25 to 64. Evidence-based exercise programming is the single most effective prevention tool — and it's what we deliver, in-home, with R.Kin oversight.

  • Not even close. The Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines for Adults 65+ identify resistance training as one of the most impactful interventions for healthspan, regardless of starting age.
